Further to this, my husband and I went ahead and ordered our bikes, and I just wanted to say how delighted we are with them. We went for the 20" wheels for me in the end. I hadn't ridden a bike for about 40 years, and was really dubious as to whether I was going to be able to balance at all, let alone really enjoy cycling again. I was never all that confident on a bike, but can honestly say that I love this one! We haven't gone very far yet, but keeping moving is what it's all about, and I'm steadily progressing. We've used cycle track and 'quiet lane' so far - and so far, so good!
Many thanks for such a good, well-priced product. It's a great bike! I really can't quite believe that I'm back on 2 wheels again after all this time, and it's been a real boost. I don't think I'm ever going to be more than a fair-weather cyclist in all honesty, and it may be a while before I feel confident to go on the open road, but it's good exercise, an addition to walking and going swimming during the week - and hopefully will help to keep me moving!
My husband loves his (powered) bike too. The only slightly unexpected drawback for him has been that, because he has some arthritis in his neck and shoulder, any vibration (from the road/track surface if rough) tends to hurt him. However, this doesn't seem to be putting him off at all, and the next thing will be to get using it for travel to work (just as soon as he gets secure storage sorted once there!) Keeping mobile and losing weight by moving more - as well as eating a bit less, probably!! - is what he's aiming for!
